Matthew 5:43-45 - “Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy. But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.” Brought to you by BibleGateway.com. WELCOME

Brother and Sister Kaniecki welcome you.

On June 8, 2008, the Church of Christ Chancellor Ave. had its first worship to God. It was a glorious day. God was exulted, we praised, and honored and adored Jesus.   The Holy Spirit were with us in our worship. There was wonderful fellowship. Brothers and Sisters who have a “Heart for the Harvest” came together to fulfill the Great Commission

Our congregation is strategically located in the Southward of Newark, New Jersey and borders with Irvington and Hillside New Jersey. This location gives us the opportunity to reach the lost in a tri-city area. We have conducted several Church awareness campaigns in our community. The community has responded to the Gospel in a wonderful way.

To update you on the many blessings God has bestowed on us, we report that we had seven baptisms since our first worship service on June 8, 2008. Eight families have place membership. We are conducting one Bible study, at the church building, with a community resident and we have one Bible correspondence course in progress. There is now a new convert class. We have made several improvements in the church building which include new lighting over the pulpit, and expansion of the rest room. The improvements to the Church were done “at cost” by Christian friends. We purchased a used van (a very used van) to help us expand our reach into the surrounding community. With some soap and water, a little paint and some bailing wire the van should meet our needs for the time being.

We conducted one community outreach through a clothing giveaway. This resulted in much community recognition and good will. Several people visited our congregation as a result of the clothing giveaway, four of them were baptized. We are planning a winter clothing giveaway in two weeks along with a blood pressure check.

We have a vision and hope to move to a better building within a year. We are a small congregation, but we do not plan on being small for long. We are looking forward to a place with classrooms and an office. Please pray that we will be able to achieve this goal. A larger facility will help to be more effective in our outreach to the community and ministering to our members. We are an evangelistic congregation, seeking to grow by fulfilling the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20). Our methodology is Love. Love God, love our neighbors and love one another. This is how the community will know that we are disciples of Jesus Christ. “Lord let our light shine brightly that it will illuminate the pathway to Jesus”. We speak the truth in love.

Brothers and Sisters your prayers, encouragement and financial support have brought us a mighty long way; first with the Church planting in Jersey City New Jersey and now the Chancellor Ave. congregation. We look forward to the day when we will be able to help a struggling congregation as you have helped us.

According to his power that is at work within us, together we will be able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine for the lost for the saved and for His glory. God bless and keep you until that day. Yes, together we can.

You are welcome to visit us. We love visitors. Come and be our special guest. Church of Christ Chancellor ave. is a loving congregation. We laugh a lot, we enjoy each other's company and we enjoy being in the presence of the Lord. We are looking forward to your visit. God Bless you.

What must I do to be saved?”
(How to get to heaven)

“What must I do to be saved?” This is the single most important question anyone can ever ask. Our souls will exist for eternity but on the Day of Judgment when Jesus Christ judges all who have ever lived, He will divide the saved from the unsaved. The saved will go to eternal life while the unsaved will go to eternal punishment (Matthew 25:31-46). This is why it is imperative we be on the right side of the dividing line before that day arrives.

The Bible teaches, “All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). So everyone is in need of salvation. Salvation comes through Jesus Christ. And “salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved." (Acts 4:12).

To be saved we must:
1.)    Hear the “good news” (i.e. the gospel) of Jesus Christ (Romans 10:14)
3.)    Repent of our sins (Luke 13:3,5; Acts 2:38; Acts 17:30; Mark 10:15)
4.)    Confess faith in Jesus Christ (Acts 8:36-37; Romans 10:9) {Footnote}
6.)    Remain faithful for the rest of our lives and carry our cross daily (Revelation 2:10; Matthew 24:13Luke 9:23

This process of “remaining faithful” consists of striving to develop and form Christ within you—the goal behind the gift of the Holy Spirit received at baptism.

We become saved (conversion occurs) and we come into contact with the blood of Christ (or enter into Christ), at baptism, after steps 1-4 have been fulfilled.

Colossians 1:26-27Christ in you—the Goal of the Christian Life

“The mystery that has been kept hidden for ages and generations, but is now disclosed to the saints. To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.”

John 14:17
the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you.

Romans 8:9
You, however, are controlled not by the sinful nature but by the Spirit, if the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ.

Romans 8:11
And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit, who lives in you.

1 Corinthians 3:16
Don't you know that you yourselves are God's temple and that God's Spirit lives in you?

Ephesians 2:22
And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit.

2 Timothy 1:14
Guard the good deposit that was entrusted to you—guard it with the help of the Holy Spirit who lives in us.

1 John 3:24
Those who obey his commands live in him, and he in them. And this is how we know that he lives in us: We know it by the Spirit he gave us.

Christ within you—without Him, you will become trapped in legalism and rule keeping.
Christ within you—the difference between Christianity and all other world religions.
Christ within you—your hope of glory!
Christ within you—His final prayer for believers…

John 17:3,22-23
Now this is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent…
I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one: I in them and you in me. May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.
